Martin Luther King and malcolm x were two major leaders of the civil rights act. They believed that they should have the same rights as white people and be treated the same as anyone else. MLK protested non violently and Malcolm X believed that they would get no where by having peaceful protests and that they needed to be radical.
The brown vs. board of education ruling ignited protest and encouraged African Americans to challenge other forms of segregation.
Dr. King was assassinated on april 4, 1968.
